Antarctica

Today science educator, Jean Pennycook joined us virtually for a few minutes before heading out via helicopter to the penguin colonies in Ross Island. The fifth graders had been writing a paragraph on penguins so I decided to invite her to speak with us. She didn’t have enough time to do a lecture, however she was very happy to share a few images with us. In previous webcasts we just used audio however in this webcast both our cam and hers’ worked very well, with just a few second delay. It was so amazing to see someone from thousands of miles away. Thank you Jean for dropping by on Penguin Day! Listen for a moment as Jean shares a description of an image with us. Jean Pennycook

What a Day!

“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”
A historic celebration that everyone will remember forever.

Here are a few of the many notes of support on our Inauguration Day from our Circle of Friends.
From Italy:
I am sending a picture of the famous Trevi Fountain in Rome as a symbol of good luck in tomorrow’s Inauguration . All the world will stop for a while and emotionally join hearts and dreams. It will definitely be an unforgettable day and hopefully the start of a brighter future.’ Paola

From Spain

From Great Britain
Just a quick one wishing you all the best for America’s big day today. Tim

Happy New President!!!

From Australia
Really looking forward to seeing Obama next week at the inauguration on TV. He looks a very very promising president in so many ways. Closing Guanatanamo bay prison is crucial. I suppose this is the democracy working that we both enjoy.
