Ice Cream!

*Ice Cream is a fun end of summer topic. Discuss some of the ice cream questions below or create your own.
Would you rather have hard or soft serve ice cream?
What ice cream flavor do you like best?
If you could invent a new ice cream flavor, what would it be?
Do you prefer ice cream in a cone or a dish?

Invite students to draw an illustration of their favorite ice cream cone using markers or paint or have them create it out of construction materials. Encourage them to include eye-catching text of the name of the ice cream and the price per scoop. Display the ice cream projects on the bulletin board or take photos and share them on the class website. There is an interesting video of the history of ice cream in the History Channel video below. Also check out the enchanted learning ice cream activities in the link at the bottom of this post.

How is Ice Cream Made?

*For students who cannot eat ice cream, you can modify these questions above with a discussion about a favorite dessert or fruit.
