Confidence, Bravery and Tenacity

Scott Hamilton, a friend of Rich’s wrote Rich is certainly tired from 112 days at sea, the rough conditions and adverse winds. This is where his experience, depth of character, and confidence play a most important role. At some points in time and in life the most important ingredients in achieving your goals are confidence, bravery and tenacity. Rich is exhibiting all of these qualities as he continues to circumnavigate the world aboard Great American III. http://vg.sitesalive.com/daily-updates/ships-log/view/400/
As Scott Hamilton, described the traits that are helping Rich to get to the finish line I wondered whether these traits are by nurture or nature. Certainly both Rich and Scott have these traits and as a result have accomplished some amazing challenges. I am thinking about what I am doing to promote these valuable traits in young people who I work with. And what I can do to continue to build on these characteristics that help them to reach their goals in life.
